They may be flat, have bends, radii, have holes or cut out shapes or a combination of all of the above and can be made from a wide range of materials and are often made from pre-hardened material although sometimes it is necessary to manufacture from annealed material and apply a post-forming harden and temper operation. Most pressings are loaded in bending with the cantilever spring being the most simple.
